There are some cricketers who have contributed for Indian cricket and then there’s MS Dhoni who has been an absolute ambassador for indian cricket in last 15 years. This generation of young players look up to him in awe and aspires to be as good as him. When young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal got his debut and thereby a chance to stand side by side with the man MS Dhoni he couldn’t control himself and greeted the legend with folded hands as a mark of respect. This gesture has earned Yashasvi Jaiswal some respect among his fans as they are all proud of the youngster’s humbleness on and off the field.
MS Dhoni has finished so many matches for his franchise and country to that extent that whenever he turns up to bat, fans just expect him to finish off the chase. But the year is 2020 and the reality is that MS Dhoni is nowhere close to his old self where he can take on the best bowlers of the day. Although it was an exhibition of how to hit sixes in the last over by Dhoni, youngsters watching today’s innings will not have been inspired by how he constructed his innings in a massive chase.
