The Indian captain haven’t had the best of starts to this year’s Indian premier league. He got out cheaply in the opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad for 14 after trying to clear the mid-wicket boundary. In the 2nd match, he dropped 2 absolutely dollies to gift KL Rahul his 4th highest score in the IPL history

The two catches that the RCB captain dropped were sitters to Virat Kohli’s standards. He dropped the first catch when KL Rahul tried to flick one towards deep mid-wicket boundary when KL Rahul was on 83. Virat Kohli dropped the next catch when he was fielding on long-off when Kl Rahul was on 88. The Kings XI Punjab captain went on to score a whopping 132 from 69 balls.
It was the 4th highest individual score in the IPL history and the highest by any captain and the highest score by an Indian in IPL history surpassing Rishabh Pant’s 128.
It was an Innings of oozing class from KL Rahul who looked unstoppable towards the end of their batting innings. RCB bowlers and the captain had no clue to KL Rahul’s assault and this will go down as one of the greatest IPL innings ever.
Ishant Sharma likely to miss next two games for DC
RCB were asked to chase a target of 207 runs in their 20 overs but they fell short by 23 runs to KL Rahul’s score of 132. It was a pathetic batting performance by Virat Kohli and his team. The hero of their previous game in Devdutt Padikkal was hurried by the West Indian quick Sheldon Cottrell and got out for a first ball duck.
The two leg spinners were phenomenal as Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi shared 6 wickets among them giving away 53 runs in their 7 overs. RCB batsmen were falling like a pack of cards to them and they had no clue to their googlies.
Ideally, RCB were fortunate enough to win their first game against SRH and their bad moves got exposed in this game. They will be hoping to rectify those in their next game against Mumbai Indians on Monday.
