The left arm searing quick Trent Boult has made mockery of the Indian batsmen with his relentless swing and seam in the ongoing 2 match test series. Trent Boult is definitely one of the best left arm quicks going around in cricket across formats along with the Australian Mitchell Starc.
The #1 bowler in ODI formats is not far behind in tests too. He is a world class bowler and has all the attributes that a world class bowler needs to have and is surely a captain’s delight. Any captain in the world would die to have such a bowler in their side.
India after winning the first two sessions of day 2 of the 2nd test were looking to clean sweep by winning all the sessions and push the New Zealand to the back seat but the Kiwi bowlers had a completely different idea as their relentless bowling never allowed the Indians to set a tone to their innings.
The Kiwi bowlers ensured that none of the Indian batsmen looked comfortable on an uneven pitch.
India’s new wall Cheteshwar Pujara was looking rock solid before being undone by a spitting cobra from Trent Boult.
The Indians are reeling at the end of day 2 with a paltry lead of 97 runs. With only 4 wickets remaining, it will be an impossible task for the Indian batters to drag past the lead to anywhere near 200 run mark.
There is still 3 days of cricket to be played which means time is never going to be an issue in this test match. With the pitch starting to misbehave with some variable bounce and movement throughout the game, even a target of 200 can put some pressure on the New Zealanders.
The only question is whether the 3 remaining recognized batters for India in Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari and Ravi Jadeja can put their hand up in the most difficult phase of the game.
The whole test match could potentially get over by tomorrow and only time can tell what is in store for the cricket fans.
