Pakistan batsman Fawad Alam left everyone amused with a strange batting stance while batting during the first innings of the 2nd test against England. Alam was marking his return to the Pakistan side after 10 years but the things didn’t work really well for the left-handed batsman.
Alam made his return to the Pakistan Test side after more than a decade. He was excluded from the Pakistan team in 2009 and the 34-years old batsman was looking to cash in the opportunity. However, when he came out to bat he sported a strange stance which left everyone amused including the audience. Alam’s dream comeback did not last too long as the new batting stance failed and he was dismissed by Chris Woakes on a duck.
Alam batted with a Shivnarine Chanderpaul-like batting stance but it did not really help the batsman’s cause as he failed to make an impact. But his stance did manage to catch many eyeballs.

Alam walked out to bat at number six on Thursday after the top-order failure. The English bowlers left Pakistan innings in tatters at 117/4 inside 43 overs courtesy some fantastic bowling. Pakistan top-order failed once again as the centurian from the last game, Shan Masood, was dismissed by Jimmy Anderson in the 3rd over of the innings itself. Although Abid Ali and Azhar Ali did try to build a partnership together, once Anderson accounted for Azhar’s wicket, it didn’t take long for the English bowlers to create havoc in the Pakistan middle-order. They soon dismissed Abid Ali and Asad Shafiq as well.

Fawad Alam came next at number 6 to make his case stronger by playing a fine knock. However, things didn’t go as per the plan and he was dismissed for a 4-ball duck by pacer Chris Woakes. Pakistan’s hopes to put up a decent score on the board now rest on the shoulders of Babar Azam who is still at the crease after scoring a half-century.
