The Indian batting stalwart and also touted to be the new wall of Indian cricket Cheteshwar Pujara has chosen the best moment of his entire cricketing career. India’s #3 batsman who made his debut 10 years ago in 2010 has been an integral part of Virat Kohli’s team and has been in the toughest stage of transition phase.
India created history when they toured down under and defeated the Australians in their own yard during the 2018-2019 test series. That was one of the most historic moment in Indian cricket history.
Here’s what Cheteshwar Pujara had to say about the Ranji trophy title and the Australian series
First of fall, this Victory means a lot to me. I mean if I talk about my cricketing career winning the Australia series was probably one of the highlights of my cricketing career, and I would always say that the nation comes first so whatever victories I have had for the national team I can’t compare it with this(Ranji trophy). But when it comes to my entire cricketing career, this is the moment we have been waiting for, because we have played many finals and whenever we lost, we have been really disappointed because we always felt that we are capable of winning this title.
The #7 batsmen in the longest format of the game is known for his patience, grit and determination to play big kocks. His father who played for Saurashtra at the Ranji trophy level couldn’t able to win the title but now Cheteshwar Pujara has made his dad proud by winning the title.
So not just personally but for the entire team entire Saurashtra and my father who has played for Saurashtra means a lot to him also. For generations to follow, this will give them a lot of confidence and belief that Saurashtra has won the title, so all the youngsters will get a lot of inspiration out of this and I am sure that the entire cricket structure will improve.
