India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was replaced by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the 1st T20I against Australia on Friday. Yuzvendra Chahal took the field as Jadeja’s concussion substitute after Jadeja got hit on the helmet while batting.
The incident didn’t go very well with Australia coach Justin Langer, as he was seen arguing with match referee David Boon. Watch the video of the incident.
“Ravindra Jadeja was hit on the helmet in the final over of the first innings of the first T20I. Yuzvendra Chahal will take the field in the 2nd innings as a concussion substitute. Jadeja is currently being assessed by the BCCI Medical Team,” BCCI tweeted.
Jadeja played a knock of 44 runs off 23 balls to help India post a total of 161/7 in 20 overs. He was hit on the helmet during the 20th over from Mitchell Starc bouncer.

Chahal, who came in as a concussion sub for Jadeja, played a key role with the ball. The leg-spinner bagged match of the man award for his brilliant spell.
