After a thumping in the first encounter of the four-match ODI series, Zimbabwe would look to get an unassailable lead in the series when they meet UAE at Harare Sports Club on Friday. United Arab Emirates, playing first bilateral ODI series against a Full-Member nation, were in shambles in the first game. Zimbabwe’s opening-ball duo of Kyle Jarvis and Tendai Chatara were all-over UAE batsmen, striking first when the score read 2 runs. Thereafter, there was no halt on the fall of wickets from there on. The struggle for visitors came to an end at 44.5 overs with them managing only 110 runs.
In reply, Zimbabwe were helped by Craig Ervine’s quickfire 51 off 66 to seal the deal in less than 24 overs. Wicket-keeper batsman Regis Chakabva also played a decent hand scoring a patient 38 opening the innings. Building on the winning start, Zimbabwe would look to replicate the first ODI performance on Friday.
