The women’s T20 Challenge is back and this time it is even bigger and bolder with three teams competing for one glory. The initiative which was taken by the BCCI last year in a quest to promote the Women franchise cricket in India grab a lot of eyeballs around the globe which forced them to expand their thought this year.
In this edition of Women’s T20 Challenge, one more team has been added in the form of Velocity which will be led by the Indian veteran Mithali Raj who was seen donning Supernovas’ jersey last year. With the addition of Velocity, each team will compete with one another in a round-robin format and the teams finishing at the top two positions will collide in the finals which will be played on 11th May one day prior to the IPL 2019 finals.
All the matches of this competition will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur at 07:30 PM IST. Talking about the skippers, the Trailblazers will be led by Indian T20 vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Supernovas will be led by the Indian T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, whereas, the newbie’s Velocity will be led by the Indian ODI skipper Mithali Raj.

Supernovas:
For the Supernovas, their international recruit Chamari Atapattu, Jemmimah Rodrigues and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will be the pick of the batters. Sophie Devine and Natalie Sciver’s presence in the team will be a big boost for them as the duo are brilliant with both bat and ball. The spin trio of Radha Yadav, Poonam Yadav and Rajeshwari Gayakwad will hold the key in the bowling department.
