Today Match Prediction for SRH vs KKR: The third match of IPL 2021 seas Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Kolkata Knight Riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. Both teams finished with an equal number of points last year. However, KKR failed to qualify for the playoffs due to inferior NRR. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other end, faltered in qualifier 2 against Delhi Capitals. Both teams would be eyeing nothing less than the IPL title this year.
Two-time champions, Kolkata Kight Riders have had below-par seasons in the last few years. They looked out of sorts last year. Over-dependence on the overseas players costed them badly. Their biggest bet, Andre Russell failed miserably last year. His compatriot, Sunil Narine, too have had poor outings in the last couple of years. The former, however, is confident of delivering better performances this year.
Given the way, Narine has performed in the last two seasons, one shouldn’t get surprised if he makes way for Shakib Al-Hasan in the playing eleven. Also, Eoin Morgan has been assigned a full-time role to lead KKR. It will be interesting to see if he could change KKR’s fortunes this year.
The core of the Indian batting line remains the same. Young sensation, Shubhman Gill would be seen opening the batting along with either Nitish Rana or Tripathi. Dinesh Karthik might be given the opportunity to bat up the order.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, as always, looks a solid unit. Bhuvneshwar’s comeback in the squad would make SRH one of the most lethal bowling attacks in the tournament. He will be accompanied by the likes of T Natarajan, Siddarth Kaul etc in the fast bowling line-up. The top-order too looks solid, comprising of David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey.
There isn’t much experience lower down the order for the side and this could become a problem for them going ahead into the tournament. It remains to be seen how the likes of Shivam Dube, Priyam Gard and Abdul Samad fared in the tournament.
