Today Match Prediction for KKR vs MI: Kolkata Knight Riders will square up against Mumbai Indians in the fifth game of IPL 2021 on Tuesday. Mumbai Indians lost their first game against RCB in the season opener, while KKR have got off to a wonderful start, having won their opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs.
After losing their first game at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore, the defending champions wouldn’t want to make it two losses in a row and put themselves in a bad position. All the batsmen are in decent form and it remains to be seen how they perform on the same Chepauk track against a different bowling attack.
As for the changes, Quinton de Kock is likely to replace Chris Lynn against KKR. Other than that, you don’t see any changes taking place in the batting order. The bowlers bowled reasonably well, besides Rahul Chahar who went for 43 runs in four overs. Rohit would be tempted to add Piyush Chawla’s experience given how the Chepauk pitch have behaved this year. It will be interesting to see how many spinners he will go with this time around.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, has made a wonderful start to their campaign. Top-order’s brilliance in the last game should come as a big boost for the side. Both Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi played blistering knocks in their last game. Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell though had a forgettable outing with the bat. They would look to put some runs behind their back in the next game.
Cummins led the pace attack brilliantly in the last game. He bowled superbly in his first three overs before leaking plenty in his last over. He was equally supported by Prasidh Krishna and Andre Russell in the fast bowling department. With Shakib Al Hasan giving the right balance to the side, it will be interesting to see if KKR persist with him or bring back Sunil Narine in the next game.

Kolkata Knight Riders too would be high on confidence after winning their first game. However, given how ruthless Mumbai Indians have been against KKR and in the IPL, over the years, they are expected to win this contest.
