Sachin Tendulkar, Brain Lara, Jonty Rhodes, Tilakaratne Dilshan, and Brett Lee are some of the veterans who have agreed to participate in the Road Safety Series which is scheduled to play from February 2 -16 2020
Road Safety Awareness Series
The professional Management group and the Road Safety Cell of the Maharashtra Government are the organizers for this league. This seems to be just the starting of many seasons to come. The first season is slated to play in India in Mumbai and Pune from February 2nd to 16th 2020. The proceeds from the tournament would be utilized by the Road safety Cell to promote the cause in addition to highlighting how India ranks the highest in the world in terms of accidents caused on roads.
Six countries to participate
The first season will see six countries participating in this Road Safety Tournament which is set to happen in Round Robin format as like all franchise leagues around the world. The teams being, Australia Legends, West Indies Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, South Africa Legends, and India legends.
The sixth team has not been confirmed yet and will soon be announced once it is confirmed.
Time to relive precious moments
The Countries that are participating will be filled with retired players, which makes the contest even more nostalgic. Sachin Tendulkar, Jonty Rhodes, Brain Lara, Tilakratne Dilshan, and Brett Lee will be leading their respective countries and it will be filled with the 90’s heroes whom this generation kids can get a glimpse of what they were like in their playing days.
Though the players who take part are aged, there will be no short of fierce competition and as said by Brett Lee during the inauguration of the tournament that this will be a competitive one.
This surely will be a 2 weeks of carnival for cricket fans around the world.
