English pacer Stuart Broad has picked South African pacer as the best bowler of his generation. Stuart Broad appeared on Sky Sports podcast alongside Shaun Pollock and Michael Holding when he named Dale Steyn as the best speedster of his generation.
Broad was in conversation with Sky Sports podcast with two other legendary bowlers Shaun Pollock and Michael Holding when he heaped praise on his contemporary Dale Steyn. Broad admired the Steyn’s skills of pace and swing and called him a near-perfect bowler.
He is the bowler of my generation. The action, the pace, the way he can swing it, the skill. If you wanted to be a bowler, you’d want that sort of ability.
said the English star.
Michael Holding also praised Dale Steyn and placed him in his list of 4 best bowlers in the history of the game alongside Malcolm Marshall, Andy Roberts, and Dennis Lillee.
Holding said –
You can’t leave Dale Steyn out of the picture. He has been one of the great fast bowlers in an era. You’d pay to watch him.
At the same time, Shaun Pollock also praised his former teammate and called him a special bowler.
l cannot have enough respect for Steyn. His ability to shape the ball upfront at high speed and then come back later and reverse it.
Pollock also went on to add –
He cranked it up on flat wickets and had such good action and variations. He is something special, and his stats back it up.
Stuart Broad himself is a red-ball veteran for England with 138 tests under his belt. He is also the 2nd-highest wicket-taker for England with 485 wickets and the 7th-highest wicket-taker in the history of test cricket.
