Despite having a star-studded team in the IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad underperformed massively and failed to qualify for the playoffs. However, the SRH management didn’t go their usual way of releasing most of the players and forming a new team ahead of the auctions for the IPL 2024. Instead, they retained most of their players for the new season.
The Orange Army released Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, and Kartik Tyagi to free some funds. They had a massive purse of INR 34 crore to fill only 6 slots, including 3 overseas slots.
