Cricketer S Sreesanth was always in the news for his on-field behaviour during his playing days. With his life going through a dramatic turn of events post the spot-fixing allegations in 2013, many thought that he would be a much-changed person when he returns back to the field. But if all the reports and footage coming in from the Kerala training camps for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is to be believed, his character and aggression haven’t gone through much of a change even after these many years. In the recent practice match that was held, he was seen abusing a fellow teammate after taking his wicket.
Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth will be returning to competitive cricket through Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, after serving a seven-year-long ban imposed by BCCI on grounds of spot-fixing allegations. Cricket fans all around the world are eagerly looking forward to how he performs at the age of 37 after taking such a long break. More than his performance, many are waiting to see how he behaves on the field after coming back. He was a highly animated cricketer during his playing days and was always in news for one reason or the other.
With all those events that happened from 2013, many would have believed that Sreesanth would’ve lost his old aggression. But the recent footage reveals that nothing has changed even after all these years. He was at his animated best in the recently concluded Intra-Squad practice match of the Kerala team for SMAT 2021. After taking a wicket, Sreesanth was seen abusing the batsman with the word “be*****od”.

Sreesanth will be making his return for the Kerala team through the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The current member of the Indian T20 team and a seasoned IPL campaigner, Sanju Samson will lead Kerala in the tournament. Prominent names like Robin Uthappa, Jalaj Saxena, Basil Thampi, and KM Asif will play for Kerala in the 2021 edition of the SMAT.
Despite experienced pacer Sandeep Warrior moving to Tamil Nadu, the addition of Sreesanth has kept the balance and potency of the Kerala pace attack intact. He impressed everyone in the second practice match, where he registered figures of 2-22 in 4 overs. Kerala is placed in Elite Group E along with the giants Mumbai and Delhi, and hence they have an uphill task in front of them ahead of the SMAT 2021.
