Hello and Welcome to our preview for Sri Lanka vs England 5th ODI match. We are covering SL vs ENG 5th ODI Dream11 Team Prediction, Preview and Probable Playing XI for the fifth ODI match. The match is to be played at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

By winning the fourth ODI, England pocketed the ODI series and took an unassailable lead of 3-0 with only one match to go. The number one ODI team completely overpowered Sri Lanka in their own backyard. The home team needs to ponder their limited-over performance as their Asia Cup campaign was also disastrous.

One greatly improved aspect of the fourth ODI was that the rain intervention came much later than the other games. This time Sri Lanka batted their full quota of 50 overs which at one stage looked improbable. After the opener Dickwella struck a fifty, the home side collapsed to 102/4. It was Dasun Shanaka’s brilliant 66-ball 66 that brought SL back on track. Thisara Perera and Dananjaya helped the total to 273/7. Moeen Ali picked two wickets.

England began the chase with their temporary opening partnership of Alex Hales and Jason Roy. While the former fell early, latter scored a quick-fire 45 from 49 balls. Root and Morgan carried their work and got into the thirties as rain poured down. The England innings ended with the score of 132/2 in 27 overs, but it was still 18 runs more than D/L Par score. Dananjaya grabbed both the wickets to fall.

Sri Lanka:

Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the series due to an injury. Kusal Mendis is his replacement.
Sri Lanka dropped Nuwan Pradeep in place of Kasun Rajitha for the last match.
They can include Dushmantha Chameera in place of K Rajitha.
Upul Tharanga can also make a comeback into the side to add experience to the batting lineup.

England:

Jonny Bairstow will take no further part in the ODI series. Alex Hales will be playing in his place for this match as well.
After the wedding, Liam Plunkett is also available for this match.
Liam Dawson was injured and thus ruled out of the series.
Pace bowler Tom Curran took his place in the side and performed brilliantly.
England will like to experiment in this match. In the pre-match press conference, Eoin Morgan said: “There is a chance we might experiment in the final match but that will not mean we will not be our best”.
Chris Woakes could well be rested with Liam Plunkett getting a go.
England can also try Joe Denly at the top by resting Jason Roy for the game.
