One of India’s batting mainstays in Test cricket Cheteshwar Pujara was hilariously trolled by his teammate Shikhar Dhawan over social media. As we all know, the world is facing a serious crisis courtesy COVID-19 pandemic which has put human life on an abrupt halt.
Staying at home is the only measure to prevent this virus from spreading and cricketers are following this measure closely. Amidst the outbreak, Pujara shared a picture of him batting at the nets, and Dhawan took a jibe on his teammate.
Uploading a picture of himself batting in the nets the 32-year old captioned:
“The thing I miss the most in this lockdown is being on the cricket field.”
Replying to this post, Shikhar Dhawan wrote;
“Sachi humein pata hi nahi tha tu cricket miss kar raha hai. Wow!”
Joining the conversation, Vidarbha express Umesh Yadav also commented on the post with a laughing emoji.
The current scenario worldwide has taken a toll on human lives. If it wasn’t for the COVID-19 pandemic, the IPL would have been forged and Indian cricketers would’ve been delivering for their respective franchise.
Shikhar Dhawan and Umesh Yadav would have been representing Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively in the IPL.
Cheteshwar Pujara hasn’t been a part of the IPL for 6 years now. He last played in the cash-rich league back in 2014 where he represented Kings XI Punjab.
He was supposed to play in England’s County Championship this season for Gloucestershire which is his fourth team. He has previously represented teams like Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
He was available for the first six matches of the competition from April 12th to 22nd May, but the Coronavirus outbreak has drained the County season as well.
