• Senegal played an average game against Uganda but are expected to play more or less the same team they played against Uganda with a 4-2-3-1 formation.
• Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is still reeling from injury and therefore it is more than likely that Alfred Gomis will start in goal. Badou Ndiaye and Kalidou Koulibaly will have to be careful as they are a booking away from Suspension
• Also suffering from injury is defender Salif Sane, which will impact the back 4 of the Senegal team who are expected to play Gassama and Sabaly, who was exceptional against Uganda, as their full backs with Wague and Balde to begin on the bench. .

• Benin were dealt a big suspension blow in the last game of the group stage when Khaled Adenon was sent off, but the previously sent off Steve Mounie will come back in this game
• Saturnin Allagbe was preferred in goal ahead of Fabian Farnolle who is not a 100% and is again expected to start.
• Benin will play a defencive formation with a 5-4-1 setup with Mounie starting as the lone striker and looking to catch Senegal on counter attack
