Los Angeles Lakers play the second consecutive game on the road as they visit AT&T Center for a regular-season matchup against the fellow Western conference rival San Antonio Spurs. Both the teams have impressed one and all in their early going and boast the similar record 4-1 after five matches.
Lakers were on the road for the first time since suffering a 112-102 defeat in the season-opener against Los Angeles Clippers as visited Luke Donic and Dallas Mavericks.
The match was an NBA spectacle as there were some memorable performances at American Airlines Center, and a moment to savour for the Lakers fans as it was Danny Green’s three-pointer at the buzzer which brought the score level at 103-103, forcing the match into overtime.
Anthony Davis buried back-to-back dunks to start the overtime on a positive note for the Lakers, LeBron James had a three-point three-point play on a layup to extend Lakers’ lead to 110-103 in overtime. The 15-time All-Star scored an important three-pointer after Dallas’ 5-0 run. Though, Lakers never trailed in overtime. Its was Lakers’ fourth straight win.
San Antonio Spurs, meanwhile, bounced back from a close 103-97 loss at Staples Center with a convincing 110-127 win over Golden State Warriors at Chase Center. Gregg Popovich’s men are now 4-1 in the season, and find themselves in a three-way tussle at the top of table, with Lakers and Timberwolves.
