A nationwide lockdown has put everyone in their house including the cricketers. Amidst the coronavirus fuss, everyone is trying to keep their body in shape without hitting the gym.
India’s white-ball vice-captain Rohit Sharma has found a new way to be in shape in this torrid time.
Rohit Sharma was involved in a live interaction with Kevin Pietersen on Instagram yesterday. The two talismanic batsmen sat down and had a brief video interaction yesterday.
When asked what he does to stay fit in this torrid time, he stated;
“It’s very hard actually, I live in a building which has about 54 floors and we had to stop all the indoor and outdoor activities. So just been running up and down the stairs. Not 54 floors, but about two or three floors up and down and doing some conditioning exercises here and there.”
It is important to note that Rohit Sharma has had his struggles with hamstrings and currently recovering from a calf-injury which led him to miss out on the ODIs and Test series against New Zealand.
When asked whether he misses playing the game, he replied;
“Definitely miss playing the game. I was injured for two months so have been itching to play. When I got the news that everything was going to be postponed I was very sad,”
Amidst all the coronavirus pandemic, Rohit is still keeping his fingers crossed for the IPL. According to the previous schedule, IPL was slated to start from 29th March with the reigning champions Mumbai Indians taking on the finalists of the last year Chennai Super Kings in a blockbuster match.
This is what he had to say on the IPL;
“Still looking forward, fingers crossed. At some stage if things settle down, it should happen,” he said.
