After registering a scintillating 8 wickets win in the second ODI played at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom, the Proteas women have drawn level in the 3-match ODI series by 1-1 and will now head into the final game with their tails-up.
It was a magnificent show from the Proteas women bowlers who dismantled the Pakistan women batting line-up by dismissing them for a paltry 147 in 42 overs. Masabata Klass was the pick of the bowler scalping a hat-trick as she got 3 for 27 from 9 overs, whereas Marizanne Kapp, Tumi Sekhukhune and skipper Sunne Luus scalped two wickets each.
The Proteas women chase was led by the openers Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt who stitched a 76 runs stand for the opening wicket. Lizelle Lee was the first wicket to fall but before being dismissed she got 40 runs against her name from 43 deliveries.
However, Laura Woolvardt continued her good show and carried her bat throughout the innings with a score of 74 to her name which included 9 fours. The finishing touch was given by skipper Sunne Luus who remained unbeaten 21 from 46 deliveries.
Now with the series leveled at 1-1, the final match of the series will be nothing short of a grueling encounter and both teams will give their everything to win the series.
