Once again it was an emphatic show from the Pakistan women who clinched the first T20I quite convincingly by 7 wickets to go 1-0 up in the 5-match series. Now the two teams will head to the City Oval in Pietermaritzburg for the second game.
Batting first, the hosts Proteas women got off to their worst possible start as they lost both their openers Lizelle Lee and Tazmin Brits for a duck with only 1 run on the board. They couldn’t get over the early damage and could only manage 119 runs on the board for the loss of 7 wickets. Chloe Tryon was the top scorer with 43 runs to his name from 31 deliveries, whereas, Mignon du Preez chipped in with 22.
Sana Mir was brilliant with the ball for the visitors scalping 3 for 14 from her quota of 4 overs, while Nida Dar got 2 for 30 from her 4 overs. While chasing, skipper Bismah Maroof and all-rounder Nida Dar got 53 runs each and got their team over the line with 7 wickets in the kitty and 2 overs to spare.
