After a defeat in the first ODI, the South African team made a winning comeback in the second match. The home team bundled out Pakistan cheaply and then found itself in the danger of collapsing. A fantastic late-order fightback helped them level the series.

Bowling first, the South African pace bowlers made early inroads into the Pakistan batting and started a collapse. Phehlukwayo (4 wkts), Shamsi (3 wkts) and Rabada (2 wkts) were the leading bowlers. Their batting fell apart in the chase. But from 80/5, Van Dussen and Phehlukwayo carried them past the target of 204. Phehlukwayo was the man of the match for the stunning all-round performance.

Pakistan was in mortal danger of being rolled over cheaply at 112/8. Hasan Ali then stole the show with his spectacular 59 from 45 balls. Sarfaraz Ahmed gave great support with 41. Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan tried their best with five wickets but the total proved too small.

Pakistan:

Pakistan made two changes for the second ODI. They replaced Imad Wasim and Usman Khan with Hussain Talat and Shaheen Afridi.

Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman have been decent so far in the series. Zaman had a start in the last match but could not kick on.

Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik form a solid middle-order.

Shadab Khan will be the spinning option. Hussain Talat scored 2(14) in the last match, Pakistan may well go back to Imad Wasim or include a fast bowler in form of Mohammad Amir.

Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi will be the pace bowlers.

South Africa:

South Africa has made three changes to their squad for the remaining three ODIs. Dale Steyn, Quinton De Kock and Beuran Hendricks come in place of Duanne Olivier, Heinrich Klaasen and Dane Paterson.

Hashim Amla and Quinton De Kock will open for the Proteas. Reeza Hendricks may get demoted to number three or may get replaced by Aiden Markram. Rassie Van Der Dussen impressed with his 80 not out, R Van Der Dussen or Faf du Plessis should bat at the fourth spot. David Miller complete the middle order.

Andile Phehlukwayo will be the all-rounder.

South Africa replaced Imran Tahir and Dwaine Pretorius with Tabrez Shamsi and Dane Paterson. While Shamsi can retain his spot, Paterson can be substituted by debutant Beuran Hendricks or Dwaine Pretorius.

Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada will be reunited to scare the batsmen.
