New Zealand U19 women’s team were seen dominating in their first of the three ODI matches against Australia. Australian U19 Women’s side, who is in New Zealand soil for the three 50 overs and one T20 clash have to do something unexpected to be back on track. Youngsters of both the teams would be playing in such a way so that they could claim their place in the national side with their performances.
Aussies were able to engrave 187 runs on the scoreboard in 47.2 overs. Hosts were expected to give a rigorous fight to the Aussies Women and so they did, with the help of Kiwi’s Lauren Down and Saachi Shahri fantastic knock of 86 and 50 runs respectively. New Zealand women easily won the match in just 31.1overs with five wickets in hand. Charli Knott of Australia took a maximum of 4 wickets. Annabel Sutherland and Maddy Darke of Australia were able to contribute 58 and 32 runs respectively, and rest of the teammates failed to showcase their talent.
The second ODI which is going to be played tomorrow and Kiwi’s will be looking forward to staying in their flawless momentum. Kiwi’s Lauren had a chance to score 100, but unfortunately, she got retired hurt.
