India may have failed miserably in last three World T20 ’s but have won 60% of their T20 matches from World T20 2016. They last defeated Sri Lanka women by 4-0 in a five-match T20I series in Sri Lanka. They also defeated England and West Indies in warm-up matches. Harmanpreet Kaur, Poonam Yadav and Radha Yadav were star performers in the practice matches for India. They will hope to get a good start by defeating Kiwis and get early momentum in the tournament.
New Zealand Women have been quite successful in T20 format. They have a well-balanced squad containing good all-rounders, batsmen, pacers and spinners and were defeated by 3-0 by Australia in their last T20 series. They won practice match against Sri Lanka but were defeated by West Indies women. Maddy Green, Amelia Kerr and Lea Tahuhu were the key performers for them in warm-up matches. They will hope to come all guns blazing in the inaugural match of Women’s World T20 2018 and defeat Mighty Indian team.

Hayley Jensen and Lea Tahuhu will lead the pace attack along with Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates. L Kasparek and Amelia Kerr will be the key spinners along with Jess Watkin and Anna Peterson.
India Women:
The 15-woman squad has been declared by Indian team for World T20 2018.
There is some injury issue of Pooja Vastrakar from a first warm-up match. If fit, She can be tried in place of out of form Veda Krishnamurthy.
Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj, Jemimah Rodrigues and Taniya Bhatia will be the key batsmen. Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma and Anuja Patil will play the role of an allrounder.
Arundhati Reddy will lead the pace attack while Poonam Yadav, Radha Yadav, Anuja Patil, Deepti Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur will spearhead the spin department.
