New Zealand’s strength is their batting line up as new comer David Conway is doing very well at number 3, Glenn Phillips scored a hundred at number 4, all rounders Jimmy Neesham and Mitchell Santner played useful knocks down the order and openers Guptill and Seifert too have looked in good touch. In the bowling they are without Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson for this match but Lockie Ferguson, Santner, Ish Sodhi, Scott Kuggeleijn and Dough Bracewell are pretty good in these home conditions.
On the other hand, West Indies’ strength is their batting unit as they have a lot of powerful hitters. Andre Fletcher, Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran are quite good but they need to spend some time on the crease. Captain Pollard played a great knock of 75* runs in the first game and once again he will be the key in middle order. Fabian Allan too did well with the bat in the first match. On the other hand, West Indies’ weakness is their batting as well as bowling. Their batsmen have the talent but the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Brandon King and Rovman Powell have batted very poorly so far and their this attitude can put West Indies in trouble again. Bowlers like Keemo Paul, Kestrick Williams aren’t bowling with good line and lengths and they need to work on these issues.
