One of the fittest cricket team in the world cricket is India. The team lead by the inspiring captain and the fittest athlete in the universe in Virat Kohli has been the backbone of this transition who has made the Indian team into one of the most acrobatic team that other oppositions would look up to.

Over the years, India have produced some magnificent fielders with the likes of Mohammad Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja, Mohammad Kaif. But the Indian team never had 11 fittest cricketers taking the field all at once and the times have changed under Virat Kohli at the moment.

Mohammad Kaif backs this fast bowler to clear the test

India had many iconic fielders and one of them is Moahmmad Kaif who earned the reputation as an unforgettable fielder in the Indian history. The fragile right hand batsman was full of energy and was leading the fielding department along with Yuvraj Singh for the most part of early 2000s.

When asked about the Yo-Yo test the former batsman picked 3 players from the past who could have cleared the test with ease.

Fitness is very important for cricketers. If we did the Yo-Ye test during our time, Balaji and I could have fulfilled that criteria, even Yuvraj Singh was good. But, I do not think that others would have passed the Yo-Yo test

Yo-Yo is the new mantra

One of the important aspect that came into existence during the legendary leg spinner in Anil Kumble’s reign as the Indian coach was the introduction of Yo-Yo test that every player had to undergo to prove their match fitness to find a place in the playing XI.

Though this mandatory fitness program didn’t go well with some of the seniors in the team, the ever energetic and inspiring captain in Virat Kohli refused to back out from this test and there has been no leeway for the players since then which made the team into a bunch of agile players.
