After making it to the playoffs two times in two attempts, Lucknow Super Giants will be eyeing the glory this time around. They retained most of the squad ahead of the auctions for the IPL 2024 but released a few players, including Jaydev Unadkat, Manan Vohra, and Daniel Sams.
Lucknow Super Giants also traded Devdutt Padikkal and Avesh Khan with Rajasthan Royals in a major move. The LSG had a purse of INR 13.15 crore with only 8 slots to fill, including 2 overseas slots.

The Super Giants began their shopping by signing the replacement of Avesh Khan as they shelled out INR 6.40 crore for Shivam Mavi. They signed two uncapped Indian players, Arshin Kulkarni and Manimaran Siddharth for INR 20 lakh and INR 2.40 crore, respectively.
During the end stage of the auctions, Lucknow Super Giants also added Ashton Turner for INR 1 crore and English all-rounder David Willey for INR 2 crore. They concluded the auctions for the IPL 2024 by signing Arshad Khan for INR 20 lakh.
Lucknow Super Giants already had a settled unit and they only needed to invest in the backups.
