They got their first loss of the season in the last encounter losing to Mumbai Indians at Wankhede by 37 runs. Bowling first, They restricted Mumbai at 170 runs with all bowlers contributing their part. In the chase, CSK suffered another top-order failure and Kedar Jadhav was the only positive with the bat scoring 58 runs in losing cause for his team. Chennai Super Kings will hope to bounce back and put a good show at their fortress-Chepauk and defeat Kings XI Punjab.

Moises Henriques has joined Punjab squad but is unlikely to feature tomorrow.
Andrew Tye can replace Hardus Viljoen considering slowness of the pitch. Varun Chakravarthy can also get a nod over Murugan Ashwin.
Chris Gayle is likely to return in the playing XI after recovering from slight injury. Mujeeb is likely to be axed for him.
There is also a slight chance of resting Mohammad Shami considering slow pitch of Chepauk and also managing his workload ahead of World Cup.
Sam Curran/Chris Gayle and KL Rahul are likely to open the innings. Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, D Miller and Mandeep Singh will follow them.
Ravi Ashwin and Sam Curran will play the role of an allrounder.
Ravichandran Ashwin, Murugan Ashwin/Varun will lead the spin attack while Hardus Viljoen/A Tye, Sam Curran and M Shami will be the key pacers.
Chennai Super Kings:
They will miss the services of Lungi Ngidi who has suffered an injury and is ruled out of season. David Willey is also ruled out due to personal reasons. Scott Kuggeleijn has been announced as a replacement and is available for selection.
Dwayne Bravo is ruled out for two weeks due to a hamstring injury. Scott Kuggeleijn or Mitchell Santner will replace him.
Team management should add Faf Du Plessis to strengthen the batting attack demoting Rayudu at no.4. In such a case, Shardul Thakur is likely to be axed. They can also add another spinner suiting Chepauk pitch.
Faf Du Plessis/A Rayudu and Shane Watson can open the innings. Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni will follow them.
Ravindra Jadeja and Santner/Kuggeleijn will play the role of an allrounder. Deepak Chahar can also contribute with the bat.
Deepak Chahar will lead the pace attack along with Mohit Sharma/Thakur and Kuggeleijn while Ravindra Jadeja and Imran Tahir will be the key spinners. Kedar Jadhav can support them.
