Mumbai is currently sitting at 5th position and they need to win all the remaining matches to qualify for playoffs. They had faced the same incident at IPL 2015 where they turnaround and comeback fighting back till the final and eventually becoming the winner of the IPL 8. Having won three for their last matches they now have to face again Kolkata. Mumbai needs to win again to stay alive in the tournment.
Kolkata has been struggling lately as Narine and Russel are not coming good with their bat. Kolkata faces the problem of elimination if they lose again against Mumbai. They need to win 3 out of the 4 matches. They are currently sitting on fourth position with 10 points with better net run rate than Mumbai. Shubham Gill, Narine and Russel are expected to perform to win with ease.
Kolkata and Mumbai are meeting again in span of three days. Mumbai won the match with the help of Hardik’s all round performance but they need to continue their good work ahead to secure the position in the playoffs.
