Kolkata Knight Riders are looking to bring back their glory days and in their quest, they brought back their legendary skipper Gautam Gambhir to the team management. KKR had a total of INR 32.7 crore for the auctions for the IPL 2024.
Kolkata Knight Riders released many underperformers from their squad and they needed to fill 12 slots, including 4 overseas slots. They needed a few first-team players alongside the backups.

Kolkata Knight Riders were one of the busiest sides in the auctions for the IPL 2024. KKR began the auctions by signing two Indians Chetan Sakariya and Srikar Bharat for their base price of INR 50 lakh respectively. Soon, the Kolkata-based franchise broke all records and signed the Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc for a record-breaking amount of INR 25.75 crore.
KKR then made some bargain buys in the form of Manish Pandey for INR 50 lakh, Mujeeb ur Rahman for INR 2 crore, and Gus Atkinson for INR 1 crore. In addition to that, the Knight Riders also signed a few Indians at their base price of INR 20 lakh.
Kolkata Knight Riders only signed 23 players and went back with INR 1.35 crore remaining in their purse.
