This is the eight match of third season of Tamil Nadu Premier league 2018 between Karaikudi Kaalai and VB Kanchi Veerans. both the team have played only one match and both have lost their opening match, as a result Karaikudi Kaalai lost to Lyca Kovai Kings in a thrilling super over match and VB Kanchi Veerans lost to TUTI Patriots by 48 runs. therefore both the team will look for their first win in this tournament.

Karaikudi Kaalai was very much unlucky by losing in the super overs, as of that they have scored 162 runs on the board but could not defend them. their opening batsmen have played well but their middle order failed to perform. their bowling unit apart from Yo Mahesh and S Swaminathan all the other bowlers failed to put impact on previous match, on the other side VB Kanchi Veerans performed very poor in their opening match, from batting to bowling all the units were underperformed therefore it is a big worry for this side if they continue this type of form further in the tournament, currently both the teams have placed 6 and 8 respectively in the table.

Karaikudi Kaalai:

They still feel the absence of Dinesh Karthik in the playing XI in few of the matches, as he is on national duty against England.
They have also retained 3 players R Rajkumar, M Shajahan and S Mohan Prasath in their side.
Atit Sheth and Unmukth Chand are the outstations players which will be not playing today.
S Anirudha and V Aditya will open the innings for this side and they have performed well in the previous match.
Star batsmen Maan Bafna is expected to be a threat to the opposition because of his form that he has shown in the previous match.
Experienced batsmen like M Shajahan will lead the middle order in this team as he is one of the disaster batsman in this side.
L Suryaprakash can be given one more chance to prove himself because he failed to do his contribution in the previous match or else he can be replaced by S Radhakrishnan.
Yo Mahesh will lead their bowling unit and he can again show his form in this match.

VB Kanchi Veerans:

They have retained only one player Baba Aparajith.
Sandeep Warrier and Swapnil Singh are the two outstation players will be not playing.
Apart from Vishal Vaidhya, Baba Aparajith, Subramania Silva no other batsmen did contribution for this team so it is headache for the captain to choose best plying XI after the huge loss in the previous match.
S Siddhart failed to impress in the last match, so there is a chance Skipper Baba Aparajith will openup in the inning with Vishal Vaidhya.
Apart from Sanjay Yadav all the other bowlers proved to be expensive.
R Silambarasan spent 61 runs in 4 overs, would he retain his place or replaced by S Ashwath. because R Silambarasan is very good bowler.
