England’s voyage for the World Cup starts from here. They will be playing 6 ODIs before the start of the mega event to intact their performance. The Village in Malahide, Dublin will host the only ODI between Ireland and England.
This would be the ample start for England to prepare for the World Cup, a trophy which has eluded them ever since it came into existence. Currently ranked as the number one ODI side in the world, England will definitely look to fancy their chances of claiming their hands at the coveted title, it’s just the fine-tuning they need as off now and to do that 6 ODIs prior to the mega event will definitely be enough.
Although England have suffered some blips ahead of this game as opener Jason Roy and wicket-keeper Sam Billings out of injuries, and all-rounder Moeen Ali getting rest after the workload he has in the IPL, Jofra Archer and Surrey’s keeper Ben Foakes are all set for their debuts.
Meanwhile, Ireland who have missed the World Cup berth will look to prove a point after their dismal performance in the World Cup qualifiers last year. There is nothing to lose for the Irish side, but playing at home any team would want to put up a good show for their home fans.
