The Asian Cricket Council’s latest initiative Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup kick-offs tomorrow with the opening game scheduled to be played India Women and Bangladesh Women at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
A total of four nations – India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are participating in the tournament that will run from 22nd to 27th October at Thurstan Grounds and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The four teams will lock horns with each other with the top two sides advancing into the final.
Although it is an emerging players’ tournament, four players over the age of 23 are allowed in each team to be registered but only three can feature in a game at a time.
Devika Vaidya is leading India while Bangladesh will play under the leadership of Shaila Sharmin.
