Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the T20I series against Australia. Shardul Thakur has been added to Team India squad for the remainder of the T20 series. The all-rounder sustained a concussion after being hit on the head during the 1st T20I at Canberra on Friday.
Ravindra Jadeja shut all his critics with match-winning batting performances in third ODI and an unbeaten 23-ball 44 in the first T20I on Friday before being withdrawn from the match and series.
Jadeja was struck on the left side of his forehead by a Mitchell Starc bouncer, although off the bat. The BCCI medical team confirmed that he had sustained a concussion and was later ruled out of the series.
Yuzvendra Chahal took the field as Jadeja’s concussion substitute and, the leg-spinner produced player of the match performance with bowling figures of 3 for 25.
Shardul Thakur, who was impressive in the third ODI against Australia earlier this week, has been rewarded with addition to T20I squad. India lead 1-0 in the three-match series. For more cricket news, click here
