Melbourne Stars ended fourth on the points table with seven wins and seven losses. They comfortably defeated Sydney Sixers in the last encounter to qualify for the semi-final. Batting first, Glenn Maxwell played an attacking knock of 82 runs and was supported by Stoinis and Handscomb to give a target of 167 to Sixers. The spin duo of Lamichhane and Zampa were all over the Sixers taking three and two wickets respectively and were supported by Dan Worrall to provide a 94-run win to the team. They will hope for a similar performance from their star players in the crucial semi-final tomorrow.

Clive Rose, D Short and Qais Ahmad will handle the spin department while James Faulkner, Jofra Archer and Riley Meredith/David Moody will spearhead the pace attack. Simon Milenko can support them.

They have also declared 13-men squad for the match with one change. Nick Larkin replaces Jackson Coleman in the squad.

Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Dwayne Bravo will play the role of an all-rounder.
Jackson Bird, Marcus Stoinis, Dan Worrall and Dwayne Bravo will be the key pacers while Adam Zampa and Sandeep Lamichhane will lead the spin attack along with G Maxwell.
Nic Maddinson has been in poor form entire season but is unlikely to be replaced. However, Evan Gulbis and Nick Larkin are able contenders available for selection.
