The defending champions Hampshire will now play Glamorgan in the next North Group game which will be played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. This would be the second match for both Hampshire and Glamorgan in this edition.
Hampshire who are the reigning champions of English One-Day domestic cup are coming into this game after a thumping victory over Kent Spitfires which was a rerun of last year’s final by 90 runs. Riding on Sam Northeast’s unbeaten 105, Hampshire managed 310 after the completion of 50 overs. Apart from Northeast, Rilee Rossouw scored a valiant 55 of just 43 deliveries and proved a helping hand for the centurion.
Meanwhile, Glamorgan are coming into this contest after a humiliating loss against Essex where they surrendered by 180 runs. Chasing a massive score of 326 runs set by Essex, Glamorgan were bundled out for a mere 146 as they succumbed under pressure. Seamer Marchant de Lange was the top scorer for his side with 36 runs off 22 deliveries, whereas, Essex’s all-rounder Ravi Bopara was the one responsible for the damage incurred with the ball as the veteran scalped 3 for 26 from 7 overs.
