After his dream run in the year 2019, the Indian limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma has won the ODI Player of the Year award for the year 2019.
The International Cricket Council has announced the annual awards for the players for the year 2019. India, who had a dominating 2019 across formats found some award winners at the event. The Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma for his magnificent run in the year 2019 bagged the ODI player of the year award. The 4-time IPL winning captain also found his feet as a permanent opener in the longer format of the game where he made a double century against South Africa opening the innings.

Rohit Sharma started the year 2019 with a bang by winning the IPL trophy as a captain for the 4th time. He then scored 5 centuries in the World cup which is the most by any player in the world in a single edition of the world cup. He finished as the leading run-getter of the Marquee event. Rohit Sharma went on to open a new chapter in his life as a test opener for India. He scored a test double century and a century in his first outing as an opener against South Africa. He looked like a different player when he opened the innings in tests. All in all, it was a year to remember for Rohit Sharma.
