Sri Lankan Women are fighting hard against the England women’s team in their 1st ODI match running at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota. Having to opt field first, Sri Lankan bowlers were seen struggling in front of English Batters. With the help of AE Jones (79), HC Knight (61), NR Sciver (93), and DN Wyatt(47), English women were able to record mammoth 331runs with the loss of 7 wickets.
Just like their Bowlers, Sri Lankan’s batters were not able to impress much and were seven wickets down in only 46 runs. Currently, Sri Lanka’s women are 127/7, until the rains affected the play. KH Brunt of England took three wickets and gave just 24 runs in 7 overs.
Sri Lankan Women’s perform have been poor in their previous series as well. They will now play their 2nd ODI against England on 18th March at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota and would be looking forward to level up the series by 1-1.
England has been in such killer form since long. Before leaving for Sri Lanka, English Women played a series against India, and they were without any doubt a stronger side.
