Indian cricket team’s one of a kind player is Hardik Pandya. No other cricketer in the whole nation is as established as himself as a genuine fast bowling all rounder. He has been a vital cog in the Indian limited overs set up for the best part of last 4 years. This energetic and dynamic batsman has been a favourite among fans but how much do we really know about the guy?
Owing to the current situation due to the Corona Virus pandemic, as we all know there’s no present cricketing action across the globe. But the social media presence of the game’s governing council the ICC has always found ways to keep the fans engaged. The ICC posts OTD – On This Day content to remind the cricket enthusiasts of significant events that happened on a particular day to keep the fans engaged.
Also the ICC would regularly ask questions to its fans over in twitter. One such post that came out today was about Indian all rounder Hardik Pandya. ICC asked if fans knew the reason behind Pandya’s jersey number being 228.
As usual, soon after the ICC official twitter handle posted a tricky question, the social media platform was abuzz. Fans started guessing the answers while some started to dig deep to find out what the actual reason might be. Turns out that the reason was that 228 was Hardik Pandya’s highest score. He scored 228 while playing for Baroda U-16 team against Mumbai and helped them win the match. Certainly a proud moment for the all rounder in his career even after achieving heights such as scoring century for the nation and numerous match winning performances for both his country and his IPL club Mumbai Indians.
