With two spots left in playoffs, Mumbai has came back strong with all hopes lost at one stage. A win over Delhi would confirm their berth in playoffs provided Punjab doesn’t win over Chennai with high margin. Since Mumbai has better Net run rate than all the other 4 teams competting for the 2 spots. Mumbai has won 4 out of the last 5 matches. Last match brilliance of Bumrah with ball getting rid of Rahul at the right time restricted Punjab and won the last by 3 runs. Keeping their hopes alive for the playoffs.
Delhi are coming after trashing Chennai. Being the underdogs against Chennai shocked everyone with the win. They had posted a par score of 162 and was able to restrict Chennai. With bowling department staying economical Trent Bolt and Amit Mishra were the pick of the bowlers bagging 2 wickets each. It was the efforts of Harshal Patel and Vijay Shankar with the bat that helped Delhi at the depth over. Harshal smashed 3 big sixes in the last over of Bravo making him the contender of must pick for the match against Mumbai as he can contribute with bat and ball.
Last time both met it was a high scoring game where Mumbai’s top order batsmen SKY, Lewis and Ishaan contributed with the bat to post the score of 194. Delhi in return and a surprise change in batting lineup. Roy had opened the batting for Delhi and he score unbeaten 91 and rowed Delhi to the shore of the last ball. Delhi won the game. Roy was supported by in form Rant with a score of 47. Mumbai needs to win this match while Delhi can be the party spoiler for Mumbai. It would be a interesting match to binge watch.
