Chennai Super Kings will face off Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next match of Indian Premier League 2020 in Dubai tonight. Chennai has had a disappointing start of their season as they have only two wins from six matches but in the last two matches they performed well and will look to do better in this match. Chennai Super Kings have a team of old and experienced players of this format and their strength is their top order batting and depth in bowling. Shane Watson with two back to back fifties is among runs and Faf du Plessis is going well from the start. Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni too have played useful knocks and in lower order Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja have played cameos. In the bowling Shardul Thakur, Dwayne Bravo and Sam Curran have been good so far and in the last match Karn Shamra impressed with his spin bowling and these guys can continue doing well if they bowl with proper plans.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s major strength is their top order of Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. And all these batsmen have notched up fifty plus scores and if two of them come good then they can post a big total. In the bowling Yuzvendra Chahal has been stand out performer and in support Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini and Washington Sundar have done well so far and once again they all have to step up.
Weaknesses :
Chennai Super Kings’ weakness is their middle order as Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni struggled to score quick runs and it creates a lot of pressure on other batsmen so they should use either Sam Curran or Ravindra Jadeja in top order and in the bowling Deepak Chahar needs to focus on his line length so he can pick up a few wickets in power play.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s weakness is their poor lower order and death overs bowling. Shivam Dube, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Washington Sundar haven’t got a good score yet and in bowling all their bowlers have struggled in death overs and leak a lot of runs. Also their top order batsmen crumble while chasing a big total like we have seen them against KXIP and DC.
