Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar who has been known for his controversial comments of late has again made a statement rekindling his old statement in twitter
When Virat Kohli was already a superstar in the making for India in the limited-overs format, he was still trying to find his feet in the longer format of the game in 2012. A lot of people also written off Virat in the longer format of the game including Sanjay Manjrekar. In 2012, when India was playing against Australia in Australia in a 4 match test series, Sanjay Manjrekar made a controversial statement by putting up a tweet saying that, he would drop VVS Laxman and play Rohit instead and also will give Virat just one more test to make sure that Virat doesn’t belong to this format.
The tweet read as:
Virat Kohli then did what he does best by proving each and every critic wrong by getting buckets and buckets of runs in the longest format and made Dhoni proud who backed him during his tough time. Virat Kohli went on to became the 3rd highest run-getter in tests and finished the decade as the No:1 batsmen in tests as well.
As the decade is coming to an end, there were few Polls doing rounds in twitter stating that what could be the worst tweet of the decade for which a Twitterati quoted Sanjay Manjrekar’ tweet of him criticizing Virat in 2012.
