We are half-way into the Ford Trophy which is the 50-over domestic competition of New Zealand. Both the team have played five matches and five are remaining. Auckland is better placed with three wins from their five games while Central Stags have struggled to earn one victory from their five matches.

Central Stags faced a defeat against Northern Knights in their previous match. After having them in trouble at 95/5, Stags allowed the Knights to post 313/7. Bracewell was the most successful bowler for the team with a three-wicket haul. The chase was spearheaded by Dean Foxcroft, who scored his maiden List A century with a fantastic 120 from 105 balls but CD eventually fell short by 25 runs.

Auckland suffered a heavy defeat against Wellington as they conceded a 120-run loss. Three-wicket haul from Sean Solia and two wickets from McClenaghan helped Auckland restrict WEL for 278. In reply, they kept losing wickets at a regular interval and it was number eight William Somerville who top-scored with a 50. Auckland was bundled out for 158.

Ben Smith and Bevan Small have been dropped from the12-man squad announced for this match. Ben Smith, the opener is injured.

Seth Rance and Ben Wheeler are their replacements. Wheeler is likely to take the place of Ben Smith in the playing XI from the last game.

The batting lineup is expected to shift up by one place with one opener not available.

AUK:

Spinner Will Somerville has been called up by NZ team for their UAE tour against Pakistan. Ronnie Hira replaces him. Raj Majithiya also replaces Finn Allen in the announced 12-man squad.

Both are expected to get into the playing XI with Snedden being the 12^th man.
