Legendary Australian spinner Brad Hogg took to Twitter once again to interact with fans. A usual the chinaman spinner interacted with fans and answered a lot of questions. While most of his answers were logical but, an answer or two also surprised the fans.
Hogg Picks the ‘Fab 4’ of Bowling
While cricket fans already know that Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, and Steven Smith are considered as the ‘Fab 4’ of batting in the world at the moment, a fan asked about the ‘Fab 4’ of bowling in the world. Former Aussie spinner picked Indian Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Fellow countrymen Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc alongside Trent Boult from New Zealand as the ‘Fab 4’ of the bowling in the world. Hogg also added that all 4 bowlers are capable to perform at the highest level in all formats.
When asked who were the toughest batsmen to bowl against, Brad Hogg revealed that he didn’t like bowling against Virendra Sehwag, Brian Lara, Kevin Pietersen, and ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar. This answer doesn’t surprise many as all 4 batsmen are considered one of the greatest batsmen to play the game of cricket.
World cricket hasn’t seen many chinamen bowlers as it considered the most difficult bowling craft. While many would argue that Brad Hogg himself is the greatest chinaman bowler so far in the world cricket but the former bowler surprised everyone by not picking himself. Brad Hogg named young Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav or Tabraiz Shamsi from South Africa as the greatest chinaman spinner ever. Hogg’s choice will come as a surprise to many as both players still have a very young career and they still have to cover a long distance to earn that tag. Many would label it as a humble gesture of Hogg as if he did not choose to take his own name.
It was a fun session all along as the spinner from yesteryears also answered many other questions of different varieties.
