Auckland began their campaign on a winning note as they pulled off a stunning thriller against Northern Knights. With McClenaghan leading the wickets tally with three wickets, Knights were restricted to the total of 268. In reply, Auckland lost two wickets in the first over itself. Opener Sean Solia played the majestic knock of 133 to take the team through despite losing eight wickets at the other end.
Wellington clinched a comfortable win in the opening round against Canterbury. Batting first, Canterbury posted 286 all out in 48.4 overs. Opening bowling pair of Bennett and Newton picked three wickets each. Andrew Fletcher scored a brilliant 132 in the chase and remained not out till the end to complete the seven-wicket win.

Ian McPeake was omitted from the team that took the field in the last match.
They do not have a reason to make a change to their playing XI, it is likely to be the same.
Top three in Fletcher, Nofal and Conway, all were in form in the last match. Bracewell and Neesham batted in the middle order and carried the team home.
Bennett, Newton, Sears and Neesham will handle the pace department while Younghusband will chip in with his leg-breaks.
Auckland:
They have also announced the 12-man squad for the match and there is one change.
Matt McEwan who was in reserves for the last match was replaced with Will O’Donnell.
Auckland will also be going unchanged into this match with a win in their pocket.
Sean Solia, Finn Allen, M Barry and C Cachopa form the core of the batting lineup. R O’Donnell, Beghin, Horne will complete the middle order.
McClenaghan will lead the bowling attack with Ferns, Brown and Somerville.
