Canterbury is second on the points table with one win and one loss. They won their last encounter against Central Districts by five wickets. Bowling first, Will Williams was superb taking four wickets while Theo Van Woerkom took two wickets to restrict Central Districts at 163. Tom Latham starred with the bat scoring 73 runs to easily chase the target on the loss of five wickets. They will hope to give a tough challenge to Mighty Auckland team.
Auckland has continued the momentum after winning Ford Trophy 2017 and have won both the matches. In the last match, Sean Solia once again starred with the bat scoring 63 runs and was well supported by C Cachopa who scored 49 runs. Other batsmen also got starts but could not convert it into a big knock. Defending 277, Michael Barry took a three-wicket haul while M McClenaghan, W Somerville and R O’ Donnell took two wickets each to get a 13 run win. They will hope to continue the momentum ahead in the tournament.
A good match can be expected between both top teams.

William O’ Donnell is likely to sit out . However, If team management prefers an extra spinner then he can replace Jamie Brown. Chances of same are less and they may not tinker the winning combination.
Sean Solia, Craig Cachopa, Graeme Beghin and Ben Horne will be the key batsman. Michael Barry and Robbie O’Donnell will play the role of the all-rounder.
Will Somerville will lead the spin attack along with Robert O’Donnell while Mitchell McClenaghan, Michael Barry and Danru Ferns will be the key pacers along with Sean Solia.
Canterbury:
They have also announced the 12 man squad for the match. The only change is Matt Henry being replaced by Andrew Hazeldine and will directly come in the playing XI.
Chad Bowes, Tom Latham, Steve Murdoch and Henry Nicholls will be the key batsmen. Cole McConchie and Andrew Ellis will play the role of an all-rounder.
Theo van Woerkom will lead the spin attack along with Cole McConchie while Will Williams, Henry Shipley and Andrew Ellis will be the key pacers.
