Pakistan batsman Asif Ali has sparked controversy after swatting his bat at bowler Keemo Paul’s face during the CPL match between Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors. The incident left everyone stunned, including Keemo Paul who confronted the batsman straightaway. Ali is likely to face the disciplinary action as the match referee Reon King would inspect the incident.
The incident took place during the 8th over of the Jamaica Tallawahs innings. The Tallahwahs were chasing a mediocre target of 109 runs set by the Warriors. They were well-placed in the chase with a score of 46/2 after 7 overs. The Warriors needed quick wickets to stay afloat in the game. At the 2nd delivery of the 8th over, Asif Ali miscued a pull shot of Keemo Paul, and Chris Green took an outstanding catch at the long-on to dismiss the batsman. The bowler did appear to give Ali a send-off. Asif Ali lost his cool after throwing his wicket away and swatted his bat towards the bowler in a bizarre manner. The bat narrowly missed Paul’s face, and it stunned everyone around including the bowler.
